The decrease in vibration is an important necessity for different branches of engineering, technology, and industry. Consequently, a need for vibration control is required. Many techniques are used either to limit or modify the system's vibration response. There has been tremendous energy for the convenient execution of these vibration-control structures throughout recent years. Viscoelastic materials appear great damping properties. Damping is related with the energy dissipation capacity of the material. Viscoelastic materials are widely used to reduce the vibration of the vibrating structures. In this study, we can apply the viscoelastic material (Dyad 606) on the metal plate in the form of free layer damping and pretension layer damping. First we made the two aluminium structures by using free layer damping and pretension layer damping. Passive control of the cantilever plate by using double layers of the viscoelastic plates, one in the upper face of the Al (5056) and the second one in the lower face. This layers affected by axial uniform distributed force by applying tension load. The effect of pre-tension damping material thickness on the damping behaviour of AL Plate is discussed. Then from the results obtained we determined that the loss factor and the attenuation percentage of the structure with pretension layer damping is more as compared to free layer damping. It is also found that the most effective thickness of the viscoelastic material to increase the damping capacity of structure is around half the base plate thickness. It analyses modal analysis in FEM software (ANSYS). |
